New blocking for an old shot

Ok, so I'm finally revisiting this shot from....sheeesh...waaaay back. It went disastrously for me the first time, and THIS time I really focused on three important things early on in my planning: Spacing, Timing, and Poses. That, and I decided to use Digicel Flipbook for my initial planning. I think it worked out great so far, would love some feedback on my blocking to this point!

STARCRAFT II IS HERE!!!

Ok, so I'm a couple weeks late posting this. But MAN is this game incredible. My buddy and I played the original for over 10 years together, so what a tremendous feeling to see Blizzard come out with a more-than-worthy sequel!

The Reel is up!

As you can see above, I've finally posted what I hope to be a strong reel. All this work wouldn't have been possible without Animation Mentor. They are awesome. I loved my mentors, I learned so much, and I know HOW to keep learning and pushing thanks to them.

My classmates were awesome in Class 6, here's a snapshot of a few of us chatting through AM's new vidchat feature! Just click on the thumbnail.

Anyways, I want to also list my mentors in thanks:

Anthony Wong
Dimos Vrysellas
Jay Jackson
Brett Coderre
Ethan Hurd

Thanks to them for passing on their knowledge and wisdom. If you've ever thought about enrolling in AM, just commit and go for it. Be passionate and love it!

You must BELIEVE...

In a past webinar I attended, hosted by Animation Mentor and featuring the wise Eric Goldberg, he had this advice to give:

"Believe your characters exists. Because, if you don't, nobody else will."

YES! Yes...and yes. The effect of these few words on my state of mind while animating is profound. How difficult it is to animate without really knowing your character. It makes so much sense to let that CHARACTER guide you, rather than YOU just moving the character about.

Anyways, wanted to share that bit of wisdom! In addition here is a great excerpt from Comic-Con 2009:

Graduation is almost here

Here we are, Class 6 has arrived and I finish up in less than 2 weeks. It's so hard to believe. Now, it's time to really build this website up and change a few things.

For starters, here's a great link to one of the most amazing collection of pencil tests online!
