A little intro to myself and my situation:
I work full-time as a Network Administrator and I am currently a Class 1 student with Animation Mentor. I've always loved animation and earlier this year I decided to finally go for it. I love to sketch, draw, paint (digital), and I've performed on stage as a clown, a stand-up comedian, and an Indian classical musician.
I was up until 2am last night working on my Class 1: Week 7 assignment. It's going well I think, and I will really push it in the next couple of days. Funny thing, I can't stand to stay one minute past 5:30pm at my job, but I love to just work on my projects and visit with my classmates late into the night.
It's been a wild ride so far, and now that week 7 is almost done, I can't believe how much I've learned already. Animation Mentor IS the place. The community support is staggering and very positive. Sometimes I wake up in the early morning and I think with amazement, "I'm going to be an animator". It's more like a decision than a dream to chase. Destiny doesn't find you or claim you, you don't "discover" your destiny. You just choose it. No biggie.
So, some crucial points about planning. I SUCK at planning, I tend to jump in to things and hope that all the pieces just fall together, kinda leaving things up to luck and thinking-on-the-fly. I finally get what planning is all about. It's about sitting down and writing, thinking, thumbnailing, watching video references and not being attached to any of it. Just an exploration of creativity. And alot of it.
